Kohima, November 27 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has issued a directive ordering its rank and file not to participate or involve in any election of India as well as “the upcoming sham election of the so-called Nagaland state”.
The directive, issued by FGN Kilo Kilonser Shevohu Keyho, stated that the ban is as per the decision taken by the FGN’s Council of Kilonsers.
Stating that the Naga people under the banner of the Naga National Council (NNC) totally rejected the 1st and 2nd general elections of India in 1952 and 1957, the directive stated that the “mandated” NNC and the FGN will always remain “steadfast” and “never participate in the sham elections”.
It argued that the elections were “arbitrarily” conducted by the “aggressor” India in collaboration with its “puppet state” Nagaland which was “illegally created in 1963 through the treasonous Naga People’s Convention (NPC).
In this connection, the directive warned of action against any NNC/FGN worker found involving or participating in the “sham election”. “No defaulter will be excused,” it stated.
