NPCC for wide coverage of 2018 election guidelines in local dialects

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has written to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to give wide coverage of the 2018 election guidelines to the voters in different local dialects.

In a representation addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Camp Kohima, the NPCC also stated that any poll related violence should be dealt sternly to ensure peaceful election.

It stated that to have free and fair election, the ECI may direct the election observers to personally visit polling stations on the polling day and encourage voters to exercise their right to vote.

The NPCC also suggested that the chief electoral office and district election office may be directed to have proper facilities to provide timely information to the media and general public on election matters.

The officials deputed to ECI should be imparted proper training to strengthen the election law while performing election duty.

The NPCC also enlightened the ECI that the implementation of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) campaign for Clean Election was further strengthening the election law in the state for conducting free and fair election.
