NPF congratulates Tokheho

Reiterates its utmost commitment to Indo-Naga political issue

Dimapur, May 31 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front has congratulated Tokheho Yepthomi of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) for winning the Lok Sabha bye-election held on May 28.

The NDPP’s candidate Yepthomi bagged the bye-election to the lone Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency in Nagaland by a margin of 173746 votes.

The Party hope that he will fulfill the expectations of the electorates who supported him, stated the NPF Legislature Party in a press release.

A resolution regarding the same was passed at the meeting of the NPF Legislature Party held on May 31 in Dimapur after the result was declared.

The meeting also conveyed its gratitude to the electorates of Nagaland for extending their support and voting in favor of NPF candidate, C Apok Jamir, the release said.

The genuine voters in the State, though lesser in number, had voted for NPF candidate in the Lok Sabha bye-election, the party added.   It further lauded all the rank and file of the Naga People’s Front for the selfless service and sacrifice rendered towards the successful conduct of the bye-election in the State.

Meanwhile, the NPF Legislature Party meeting also reiterated that final settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue will continue to be its top-most priority.

“The same will be manifested and pursued by the Naga People’s Front with utmost sincerity and commitment, until the matter is brought to its logical conclusion,” stated another resolution adopted at the meeting.

It further condemned in “the strongest term current Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio’s pseudo-theory that the NPF Party is divided into 3 groups.”

“The NPF Legislature Party reiterates and declare that the Naga People’s Front remains united under the dynamic leadership of TR Zeliang, Leader of the NPF Legislature Party and Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President of the Naga People’s Front,” it added.
