NPP’s Dr K Chuba Ao identifies development as main agenda; assures to develop roads

Mokokchung, February 11 (MExN): Former Commissioner & Secretary Dr K Chuba Ao (IAS) has declared to contest in the ensuing Nagaland general election from 29th Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency with National People’s Party (NPP) ticket. Development of the Jangpetkong range, Mokokchung district, and Nagaland will be his main agenda.

The retired bureaucrat, who is also a onetime candidate from the constituency, declared his candidature at his native village – Waromung – on February 9.

Dr Chuba while appreciating the villagers for their blessings assured to work hard and always keep in mind the development of the constituency.

Speaking with a section of media persons after his declaration, he identified the development of Jangpetkong range road, which is lying in a very pathetic condition for the past nearly two decades, as his main agenda for development.

He lamented that many enterprising educated unemployed youths could not open up farms or other businesses in the lush Jangpetkong range due to the pathetic road condition. The range has lots of economic potentialities, and once the roads are developed then the different villages would reap the full potentialities of the rich natural resources, he stated.

Once Jangpetkong range is economically developed, Dr Chuba said, the rich natural resources would benefit not only the villages, but also immensely contribute towards the economic development of the state.

He also specifically lamented the underdevelopment of Mangkolemba town, which is one of the oldest ADC headquarters in Nagaland state looking after three ranges in Mokokchung district. He asserted that Mangkolemba town deserves to be developed to its full capacity – its offices need to be developed, its human resources mobilized – so that the town can stand as a model ADC headquarters in the state.

“My agenda is simple. As a true son of Jangpetkong range, and as a retired bureaucrat with rich experiences, my main priority is development of Jangpetkong range. Therefore, my appeal to the electorate is very simple – vote for me and I promise to repair the roads and bring the development that our range deserves,” stated the NPP candidate.

Dr. Chuba is one among the three candidates contesting from 29th Jangpetkong A/C; the other two candidates are ET Sunep of NPF and Dr Longriniken (ex MLA) of BJP.
