NPP’s Mhonjan advocates Clean Election

Wokha, February 22 (MExN): The National People's Party (NPP) candidate for 40 Bhandari AC Mhonjan Lotha has voiced support for the Clean Election campaign initiated by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and the Lotha Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrhutsu (LBES).

Speaking during a campaign programme at Akuk Village on February 21, Lotha called upon voters not to sell their votes as it only amounts to selling off their rights and at the same time depriving the future generation for a better life.

Questioning who was responsible for the poor road connectivity, lack of health care, lack of proper water and sanitation, poor electricity and poor economic condition of the people and high unemployment rate in the constituency, Lotha asserted that the only way to bring changes and development in the constituency is through clean election. As long as people sell their votes, they cannot blame anyone but themselves, he maintained. As such, he urged the people to take the right decision and vote for the right candidate for bringing change in the constituency.

The NPP candidate also condemned election related violence occurring in the state and called upon the candidates and their supporters to desist from such activities and instead, act as responsible citizens.
