Kohima, June 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) bade farewell to its Chairman A. Yanang Konyak at a function held at Hotel Japfu, Kohima. A. Yanang Konyak first joined the Commission as Member and later on was appointed as Chairman of the Commission and continued to hold the office till he retired on June 13, 2018.
The function was also held jointly for Sukhoi Khiamniungan, Peon who retired on May 31, 2018.
A press note stated here that the farewell function was chaired by Khrupi Sothu, Secretary of the Commission while the invocation prayer was delivered by Idailung Thou, Member of the Commission.
Short speeches were given by all the Members as well as the officers and staff of the Commission.
It was expressed in the speeches that an upright person, Yanang Konyak was well known for his humbleness and patience. He has put in his endeavour to be candidate friendly while upholding the principles of fairness, confidentiality and integrity.
During his tenure as Chairman of the Commission, the Departmental Promotion Committee meetings were held regularly thereby stagnation in various departments has been streamlined considerably.
A. Yanang Konyak while delivering his farewell speech has pointed out that while the Commission has never been appreciated for conducting its structured examinations regularly. However, he encouraged all the Members and Staff of the Commission not to be discouraged with negative criticism but continue to work earnestly with integrity and dedication in the interest of a better tomorrow.
