NSCN cadres held in Arunachal Pradesh

Kohima, January 17 (MExN): Security Forces have apprehended NSCN cadres in South Arunachal Pradesh. A release from PRO (Defence) Col C Konwer informed that the Changlang Battalion on January 17 at Namtok village apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre identified as Private Kejen Ngongpa with a pistol and ammunition. The cadre has been an active member of the group since December 2016 and had undergone training at NSCN (IM) training camp in Myanmar, alleged the release.   Meanwhile on January 16, the Changlang battalion apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre from Mulong village. Sergeant Major Bishnu Bhujel was apprehended with a pistol and live ammunition, according to a separate defence press release. The cadre admitted to being active part of the banned outfit since 2016 and had undergone six months weapons training at NSCN (K) camp in Myanmar, it added.   In another incident, Wangnyai Wangsu, an “over ground worker’ of NSCN (IM) was apprehended on January 16 by the Longding battalion at Niausa. An amount of Rs 3240 of “extortion money” and multiple mobile phones were seized from him, another press release said.
