NSCN (IM) Chakhesang Region questions govt employee’s action

Phek, December 4 (MExN): The NSCN (IM), Chakhesang Region, today questioned the action of one individual, claiming to be the “wife of a close associate of the NNPGs,” who called for a public meeting on matters related the Indo-Naga political talk on November 26.

A press release from Col (Retd) Zhokhoneiyi Soho, Deputy Kilonser, Caretaker CAO, Chakhesang Region said that that the concerned individual, “said to be serving as the District Magistrate of Phek,” called three Khomi villages to the mentioned meeting.

“It is surprising that an employee of the state government is calling a public meeting related to the Indo-Naga political talk. The lady in the meeting attempted to bamboozle the innocent villagers by spreading lies. Such attempt to mislead the people is totally unexpected from a state government employee,” said the release.

No matter what the solution was, the NSCN (IM) held that “she has no authority to speak on behalf of any of the governments regarding the talk.”

Instead, she should “rather focus on her work and obediently perform her duties assigned,” it asserted. If she really wanted to be “an agent of the NNPGs or any other, “she should leave her current job,” the release held.

It further questioned the Government of Nagaland on “how and in what terms have they allowed their employee to organize such meeting. Such act of self-assertion taking advantage of the post she holds should be taken under account and befitting action be given.”

Terming her role as “highly doubtful,” the NSCN (IM) Chakhesang Region stated that “The office shall not tolerate such acts and will leave no stone unturned.”
