NSCN (IM), CNC mourns

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 5 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the demise of one of its senior-most member - Tsilise Sangtam - Steering Committee member-status of the United Sangtam Region (USR). Late Tsilise Sangtam breathed his last on Saturday, August 5 at Referral Hospital, Dimapur after a prolonged illness.  

A condolence message from NSCN/GPRN Vice Chairman Gen (Retd) Kholi said the Naga nation has lost a great national worker and leader in the death of Tisilise Sangtam. His death has left a vacuum in the National service, which will not be easy to fill, Gen Kholi stated. “Late Tsilise Sangtam had dedicatedly and selflessly served the Naga Nation in different capacities with the best of his ability and to the fullest satisfaction of all concerned, which shall be cherished by the nation and his comrades in all time to come,” the condolence message read.  

In a separate condolence message, the Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) said with the demise of Tsilise Sangtam, the nation has lost one of the finest sons of the soil.  

“His service to the nation shall always be cherished and his legacy shall be followed by the children of the soil. The CNC on behalf of the Naga nation shares the grief of the bereaved family members and relatives, and prays for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace,” the condolence message issued by Rev. Seksim Kasar, general secretary, CNC stated. The CNC informed that Tsilise Sangtam is the father of TT Among, a Member of the Collective Leadership of the NSCN (IM).
