NSCN (IM) condemns attacks

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 24 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today condemned the alleged “unprovoked joint attack carried out by the 5/2 Gurkha Regiment upon NSCN cadres” in the wee hours of February 23 at Khoupumkhuntak in Manipur’s Noney District.”

A statement from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) informed that one Sgt Maj Solomon was killed and one Lt Kahaolung was injured. It also informed that a woman identified as 50 year old Kadijinliu of Khoupum Chingkao succumbed to her injuries sustained during the incident.

Accusing the Zeliangrong United Front, it alleged that “NSCN cadres were waylaid” which had resulted in the injury of one. The MIP claimed that it has been remaining quiet and “restraining ourselves” and further warned against taking the NSCN as being “weak and feeble.” “We are restraining ourselves not to hurt the sentiment of the people. Hence forth, the NSCN will leave no stone unturned but to show an exemplary and root-out the killers,” it cautioned.
