DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 20 (MExN): Lotha frontal organizations has called off the bandh and withdrew the resolution made on December 18, 2017 after the NSCN (IM) returned the keys of two passenger taxis which was seized on December 13 at Khedi Transport Agency, Taxi Counter, Kezieke NB III Kohima for allegedly not entertaining yearly vehicle tax.
The All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha along with the support of all Lotha frontal organizations had imposed total indefinite bandh within Wokha jurisdiction from December 18 onwards over the seizure of taxi keys at Khedi Transport Agency, Taxi Counter, Kohima by erring NSCN (IM) cadres on December 13, 2017.
Following the incident, the ACVA Wokha had requested the NSCN (IM) cadres to hand over the seized keys on or before December 16. However, non compliance to the demand by the NSCN (IM) had compelled the Lotha frontal organizations to impose the said bandh.
On December 18, in an emergency meeting, the bandh was temporarily suspended for 48 hours on the request from Lotha Hoho. It was also resolved that failing to hand over the seized keys within 48 hours would invite non-cooperation to the NSCN (IM) by the Lotha community.
Meanwhile, the Wokha district based frontal organization on Wednesday in a meeting held at Lotha Hoho chairman’s residence thanked the NSCN (IM) for returning the keys in good faith within the stipulated dateline.
