NSCN (K) claims latest attack on AR in Arunachal

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The NSCN (K) has claimed the attack on the Assam Rifles along the India-Myanmar border of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.  

According to a MIP release, the NSCN (K) said the “Naga Army, NSCN/GPRN launched attack on a two vehicle convoy of the Assam Rifles on December 3 at Myanmar-Arunachal border area.”  

One troop transport vehicle was completely demolished and reduced to ashes and all its occupants killed and none expected to survive, the NSCN (K) further claimed.  

It also asserted that more than nine Indian soldiers including an officer were killed on the spot and several others inflicted with serious injuries. There was no casualty or injury on the Naga Army, it stated.  

On Saturday, reports from national media had stated that two soldiers were killed and eight other injured as militants, believed to be from the banned Naga outfit NSCN (K) ambushed a convoy of Assam Rifles along the India-Myanmar border in Arunachal.
