Kohima, September 10 (MExN): The Changlang Battalion launched an operation in Old Changlang village on September 9 evening and apprehended a hardcore NSCN (R) cadre with a pistol and ammunition. The cadre, identified as Private Hunmai Taidong, has been an active member of the outfit since February 2015 and had under gone training at NSCN (R) training camps, a release from the Press Information Bureau (Defence) claimed. Meanwhile, the PIB (Defence) informed that security forces under the aegis of Dao Division has been carrying out operations in South Arunachal Pradesh. The operations launched in last fortnight have resulted in elimination of two hardcore cadres, likely injury of three hardcore cadres, apprehension of two more hardcore cadres, busting of a temporary hideout and recovery of large amount of arms, ammunition and other warlike stores, it claimed.
