NSCN (R) meets new CFSB/CFMG Chairman, express desire for peace

Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): The NSCN (R) on Friday expressed desire for “peace to be on top of their priority list,” as it paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Cease Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB)/Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) Chairman, Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan (Retd) at Dimapur.

The Chairman meanwhile expressed his desire to work in coordination with the NPGs where peace is concerned, and “said not to hesitate, but enlighten/inform him should any problem/s with regard to the Ceasefire issues crops up.” He was also of the view that such things are only possible if all stakeholders work hand in hand and in positive co-ordination.

A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (R) said it was “very optimistic” that a “very experienced person like the Chairman (Chauhan) with vast knowledge, both within and outside the country and who is also very familiar with the Northeastern States, particularly Nagaland can surely bring about positive changes.”

The NSCN(R) was represented by Kilonser Viniho Kiho (Co-Chairman CFSB), Kilonser Newell Achumi (member CFSB), Toshi Longkumer Secretary (CFSB) and MIP (I/C) Amento V Chophi (Tatar), who presented a traditional Sumi Vest Coat to the Chairman CFSB/CFMG.
