NSCN (R) questions NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (MExN): The NSCN (R) on Tuesday asked both the NSCN (IM) and GPRN/NSCN to make inquiry regarding the "cold-blooded killing" of one of its member in the rank of ‘Razou Peyu,’ identified as Hokuto Ayemi, at Green Land hotel in Mariani on May 26 evening.

A press statement received from NSCN (R) MIP Secretary alleged that the victim, who recently joined NSCN (R) from GPRN/NSCN, was reportedly taken away from the hotel by assailants claiming themselves as belonging to NSCN (IM) command. The body was recovered the next morning with multiple bruises suspected to have been inflicted by sticks, gun butts and fists, it stated.

Condemning the incident, the NSCN (R) said the Naga national movement is not a personal issue or business that some individual or group can use it to do away with any Naga life.

The NSCN (R) has requested the NSCN (IM) to inquire into the incident from their workers as well as the public whether the claim that the ‘killers’ are from the NSCN (IM) command is true or not.

It also appealed to the GPRN/NSCN to closely examine the incident, since there is the probability of misusing the situation by some of their workers as the victim was once under GPRN/NSCN.

"Whichever faction the killers might be, no one can justify such action," the NSCN (R) stated.
