The 17th edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2016 (in memory of Late Kekuojalie Sachii & late Vikhozo Yhoshii) under the aegis of Angami Students’ Union (ASU) will kick start on Saturday, September 24 at the Kohima Local Ground under the theme “Goal for Peace.”
Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs and Economics & Statistics R. Tohanba will grace the inaugural function as the chief guest at 1:30 pm.
Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Subenthung Kithan will deliver solidarity message.
Organizing Committee Convenor Neinguvotuo Krose will deliver keynote address while welcome address will be delivered by ASU president Dievi Yano.
ASU secretary games & sports Vizokho Zashiimo will administer oath to the participating teams.
Player stewards of the entrant will be led by students of Vineyard School Kohima.
66 teams – 49 from Kohima, 6 from Dimapur, 3 from Peren, 4 from Phek and 4 from Manipur – will compete in the month long tournament which will conclude on October 22.
The champion will win cash prize of Rs. 1,60,000 while the runners-up will get Rs. 1 lakh. The third prize amounting to Rs. 50,000 is sponsored by Keviselhou Sekhose while the fourth prize of Rs. 30,000 is sponsored by Jack Dozo, finance secretary Chakhesang Public Organization.
Losing quarter finalists will get Rs. 10,000 each sponsored by V. Ashu Theyo, Joshua Sheqi, Akho Swuro and Rokovikho Chale.
The player of the tournament will receive a scooter sponsored by Kekhrieselhou Yhome, Chümoükedima. Other individual prizes viz., best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder and highest scorer, are sponsored by Povezo Puro (District Child Protection Officer, Kohima), Pikato E Tuccu (District Child Protection Officer, Dimapur), Vizo Khoubve (Proprietor Biglife Tent House), and Vikyato Sumi (Asst. Public Prosecutor) respectively.
Gallery tickets till quarter finals have been at fixed at Rs. 30; from semi finals to final, tickets will cost Rs. 50.
