NSF: Review quota policy

Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation has reiterated its long-standing demand: total review of the job reservation policy. The future of unemployed youths should not be jeopardized the NSF said with special reference to those who are on the ‘verge of overage’
“The Naga Students’ Federation has explicitly demanded for total review of the existing policy on job reservation for the backward tribes of Nagaland since 2007,” the NSF stated in a note today, appended by the organization’s top leaders. “Though various commission and committees on job reservation was constituted by the state government to address and redress the issue, the reports of the commission and committee is yet to be accountable to the Public. The NSF fully considered that with the change of time and progress of the people the existing policy need to be review and addressed without further ambiguity.”
The NSF expressed dejection at the state government for the latter’s handling of such an important issue which has not only attracted legations from some sections of the people who felt discriminated but even the entire process of recruitment in the government set-up is put on hold.
“Thus reaffirming its stand, the NSF caution the state government that the career of the educated unemployed youth can no longer be put at stake especially for those youths who are on the verge of overage and therefore the NSF stoutly insists upon the state government to judiciously assess the Reservation policy without further delayed,” the organization stated.
