NSF voices support to employees’ assn demand for suspension of NIA probe

Kohima, November 23 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today voiced strong support to the demand put forth by the Core Committee comprising representative from CANSSEA, FONSESA, NSSA and NF&ASA for immediate suspension of probes on Government servants by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) pertaining to demands of taxation from NNPGs.

The NSF in a press release stated that the ongoing investigation by the NIA has raised much questions on the Nagas as to whether the Government of India is at all sincere in its effort to the Indo-Naga Peace process via-a-vis Political Dialogues.

The student body maintained that it is imperative for the Government of India and the NIA to understand the circumstances and situations under which government employees in the State function or for that matter taxes being paid to NNPGs. “Finding fault and rendering the Government employees under duress will not solve the matter of taxation,” it argued.

In this connection, the Federation while asserting that it is against any form or nature of corruption, appealed upon the Government of India to restrain from undertaking investigations/exercises which will be detrimental to Peace and Political Dialogues.
