NSRLM Mission Director visits Wokha

Wokha, September 16 (MExN): The Mission Director (MD) of Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), Athel O Lotha on September 15 visited District Mission Management Unit (DMMU), Wokha for follow-up discussion on the status and challenges of Chukitong RD Block as Resource Block and way forward.

Project Director, DRDA cum District Mission Manager (DMM) NSRLM, Thungdeno Mozhui shared about the challenges of NRLM Resource Block keeping in view the current status.

Speaking on the challenges of the Chukitong Resource Block, the NSRLM MD stressed that Resource Blocks must achieve various criteria to be an ideal Resource Block under NRLM. However, keeping in view the size of the Block with less number of functional SHGs, Athel urged all the staff and Community Cadres to re-mobilize the defunct SHGs and form new SHGs wherever possible in all villages under Chukitong Block, according to a press release.

She further mentioned that new Blocks have been taken up to implement NRLM Program in the district. Resource Block, she said, has a vital role in providing on ground trainings on various thematic functions and roles of the Mission. She reiterated that the Resource Block must establish model SHGs and their own sustainable institutions to attain Resource Block status.

Asst. District Program Manager (ADPM) Wokha NSRLM, Samuel Kithan presented the progress of various programs being implemented in Chukitong and Wokha Blocks.

BDOs of Chukitong, Changpang, Bhandari and S.O of Sanis along with DMMU staff and Block Program Managers were present in the meeting.
