NSSATA 2nd phase protest ends today

DIMAPUR, MAY 25 (MExN): The Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) 2nd phase agitation which involved boycott of classes will come to an end on May 26, and “relaxed till further notice from the central team.” It may be noted that the NSSATA has been protesting since May 2 demanding 7th ROP in line with regular state employees; inclusion into the State Non Plan Budget; and release the salaries of January 2018 till date with 7th ROP. The demands have still not been met by the government.

While thanking its members for their cooperation, the NSSATA however cautioned that erring SSA teachers (2010 & 2013 batch) who are found not adhering to the resolution passed by the association will be “dealt with severely and that failure of the agitation will be their sole responsibility.” The association reminded the government that it will not call off its agitation until “justice is delivered.” It also reminded members to be mentally and physically prepared for the 3rd phase of agitation. The NSSATA has meanwhile convened a joint meeting with all district units on May 30 at the CANSSEA office, Kohima at 11:00am.
