NSSSB essential for equal opportunity, says JDU Nagaland

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 25 (MExN): The Janata Dal United (JDU) Nagaland today reiterated its stand on the establishment of Nagaland State Staff Selection Board (NSSSB) which was one of the core issues that was incorporated in the party manifesto to the run up for the General Election 2018.

“The decades old back- door appointment smeared by nepotism and favoritism has been ailing the very system of recruitment and appointment in the governmental set up in Nagaland state. The best option at this moment is to establish the NSSSB so as to ensure that justice reigns in all matters of government appointments by giving equal opportunity to one and all,” a press release from the JDU Nagaland stated.

It urged the PDA government to urgently take initiative to set up NSSSB “which is the unanimous desire of the people of Nagaland seen from the demands being put up by various social organisations including the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF).”

The true essence of good governance is pro-activity and not reactivity on the cry of its citizens ventilated through protests, agitation or otherwise, sit on ultimatums, the party said. It meanwhile asked the government to convene an all-party meeting to discuss on this matter.
