NSTFDC official invites youths of Nagaland to avail packages

Johnny G. Rengma, non official director of National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSTFDC) is currently in the state capital Kohima to work out strategies and connect the tribal communities to the NSTFDC packages.  

Addressing a press conference here, he assured to deliver justice to the tribal communities in India.  

Stating that NSTFDC exclusively deals with tribal people in the country, Rengma assured to give utmost sincerity for economic upliftment of tribal populace in the country.  

NSTFDC was set up in 2001 as a non-profit company under Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India to provide financial assistance at concessional rates of interest for undertaking viable income generating activities to the Scheduled Tribes.  

It was formed with the Parliamentary Legislative Act 2001, he added.  

NSTFDC does not only give employment opportunity but also aims to alleviate the economic condition of the tribal areas, he said, adding that considerable number of tribal communities has benefitted.  

Johnny informed that NSTFDC does not directly deal with individual entrepreneurs, but through state agencies and financial institutions.  

For Nagaland, NSTFDC deals with Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Limited and Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation. Recently, it also decided to include Punjab National Bank, he said.  

He invited the educated unemployed youth and entrepreneurs of Nagaland and across the country to come forward and avail the various packages being offered by NSTFDC.
