NSUR provides relief to students in Rajasthan

Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): The office of Naga Students’ Union, Rajasthan (NSUR) on Monday issued a press release with updates on the activities undertaken by the Union in providing relief to students stranded in the state of Rajasthan.

 


According to the release which was issued by the Union’s President Asimbe and General Secretary Rakovi Domeh, the NSUR received an amount of Rs 1 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund through Nodal Officer and Principal Director of School Education Shanavas C on April 2. Through this, the NSUR has extended assistance to ten university students at Gangrar, Chittorgarh, to procure essential commodities, it said.

 


The Union also informed that it has been collaborating with the Samarpit Sathi Foundation, Jaipur since the start of the 21-day lockdown in the country, in providing rations to more than fifty Naga brothers and sisters stranded in Malviyanagar, Sec- 11&12, Jaipur.

 


NSUR, with the help of Linda Newmai, a social worker from the northeast region, collaborated with Team SosCorona which provided LPG and rations to the stranded Nagas in Jagatpura and Malviyanagar, Jaipur, the release stated. 

 


Further, the Union expressed gratitude to the Nodal Officer, the Chief Minister’s Office (Nagaland), NGOs and social workers, Rajasthan Police, Naga Students’ Federation, NSU Presidents in cities and all volunteers who have rendered humanitarian and philanthropic services to the Naga people in Rajasthan at this time of chaos and insufficiency.

 


Further, NSUR requested the entire fraternity of the Nagas in Rajasthan not to panic but to be conscious of the deadly virus and to take every preventive measure to keep themselves and others safe.
