NUTAK joins nationwide ‘Court Arrest’

Nagaland University Teachers’ Association, Kohima Campus, Meriema observes dharna wearing black ribbons in the University Campus on September 5.

 

Kohima, September 5 (MExN): The Nagaland University Teachers’ Association, Kohima Campus (NUTAK), Meriema on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2017, observed a dharna wearing black ribbons in the University Campus from 12: 00 Noon to 2:00 PM extending solidarity to the nation-wide ‘Court Arrest’ at Jantar Mantar in Delhi staged by the Federation of Central Universities Teachers’ Association (FEDCUTA) & All India Federation of University & College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO).

 

NUTAK, General Secretary, Dr. Tiatoshi Jamir in a press release stated that the Court Arrest is staged in protest against the non-implementation of the Chauhan Committee recommendation for 7th PRC and the ulterior motives of the Government to withdraw all financial responsibility from Higher Education in the names of HEFA (Higher Education Funding Agency) and HEERA (Higher Education Empowerment Regulatory Authority) and graded autonomy towards complete privatization and the push to turn education into corporate investments.
