NUVSU appeal for new bridge construction

Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): Highlighting the untold misery and hardship faced by students after the collapse of Chathe River Bridge which connects many schools and colleges, the Naga United Village Students’ Union (NUVSU) stated that every day nursery to college going students have to wait in the sun and cross the bridge for their education.  

NUVSU Dimapur, president, Pole Venyo in a press release issued ‘on behalf of the students’ said that an estimation of around 3000-4000 people crosses the hanging bridge every day.  

The Union therefore, requested the authority concerned to start the new bridge construction immediately since, “Money has been sanction years ago.” It also questioned if the authority concerned was ready to take the responsibility “if anything happen to the students.”  

“Please be aware that we are not asleep anymore, we are more educated now, we are wiser now, we are stronger now, we are united now, we are not blind anymore, we can stand and fight for our right if situation compels,” the Union stated in conclusion.
