NVBDCP adopts Pungro as Model Town

Pungro, June 10 (MExN): National Vector Borne Disease Control program (NVBDCP) of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland has adopted Pungro town as ‘Model Town for reduction of Malaria cases.’

The model town was formally launched by Wiridin EAC, Office of the Addl. Deputy Commissioner Pungro. In his speech, the EAC stated that the Government is trying its best to help the people and also to eliminate malaria. He urged upon the public to co-operate as it is for the benefit of the people.

It was resolved during the programme that to screen all fever cases for malaria; early diagnosis and complete treatment; regular sanitation drive; use of LLIN/Mosquito nets and other protective measures; IEC & BBC in all the wards and churches.

The programme was chair by Yimkiumong, Malaria Inspector (NVBDCP), invocation by Shojiba, member model town and keynote address was delivered by Dr Chitalu Hiese DVBO, Kiphire. It was follow by mass social work within the Pungro town.
