NVS 21st Regional Youth Parliament held

Zunheboto, August 10 (MExN): Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Lumami, Zunheboto conducted the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) 21st Regional Youth Parliament at its campus on August 8 with Dr. YV Krishnaiah, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Nagaland University as the chief judge and Howoto, Head GB Lumami Village and Kinito, Chairman, Zaphumi Village Council as the guests of honour. Dr. Krishnaiah exhorted the participating students and the gathering to develop the spirit of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, righteous expression of views, and other virtues of a democratic way of life.  

The youth parliament participants performed several proceedings of the Parliament including oath taking of newly-elected ministers, obituary reference, introduction of new ministers, question hour, breach of privilege, papers to be laid, introduction of legislative business bill, private members resolution, etc.  

The youth parliament was aimed at acquainting the students with the practices and procedures of parliament, techniques of discussion and debate, and to develop in them qualities of leadership, self-confidence, and the art and skill of effective oratory. Yogendra Akshay Principal I/C JNV Zunheboto delivered the welcome speech while Shailesh Kumar Dixit, PGT-History proposed the voted of thanks. More than 20 students participated in the proceedings of the youth parliament.
