NWHD, others flay Tirap ambush

Dimapur, May 23 (MExN): More condemnations poured in today over the tragic killing of sitting National People’s Party (NPP) MLA of Arunachal Pradesh Tirong Aboh, who along with 10 others were killed during an ambush near Khonsa under Tirap district on May 21.

NWHD: Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) Vice President, Vimeno Angami in a press release today stated such act inhuman action by unknown culprits cannot be tolerated. “Whoever did such a heinous crime must be punished as per the law of justice. NWHD mourns with the bereaved families and pray for strength, wisdom and urge upon Security personnel’s to look into the matter with their best intelligence and book the culprits at earliest,” the release added. NWHD also prayed for those Nagas living across Arunachal Pradesh “to be cautious in their movements and action until the culprits are identified through proper sources.”

The Nagaland State BJP Unit in a separate press release has vehemently condemned the dastardly act of assassination of Arunachal NPP MLA, Tirong Aboh and his convoy in an ambush at Tirap District on May 21.

NH: The Naga Hoho also vehemently condemned the gruesome assassination. In a press release issued by the Hoho’s Communication Cell, it stated that Arunachal Pradesh was one of the peaceful states in the North East for the past many years. “At a time when negotiations with the Government of India are nearing a concluding phase, mutual respect and understanding is expected through democratic means from all aspects of life,” adding that violence and bloodshed will bring only “unmanageable proposition.” It urged upon the competent authority to investigate thoroughly and book the culprits as per the demands and wishes of the people. The Naga Hoho conveyed its deepest condolences to all the bereaved family members and prayed for God’s solace at this moment of grief and sorrow. It also appealed to all sections of communities in Arunachal Pradesh to restrain from creating rumors and hatred among fellow citizens so as to “ensure secure atmosphere at this baffling moment.”

BJP Nagaland: Temjen Imna Along, President, BJP Nagaland in a release stated such dastardly act is devoid of common sense and cannot be accepted in the present set up of democratic world.

“The present case of such nature should not only be left to the State Government of Arunachal to tackle, but it should be a joint and concerted effort of State Forces and Central Forces to jointly investigate and operate together until justice is served as per the law,” the release stated, adding “it is an act of terrorism.” The Nagaland State BJP Unit conveyed heartfelt condolence to the family members of late Tirong Aboh and all the families of those who have lost their near and dear ones.
