Longleng, February 10 (MExN): Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Longleng organized District Youth Convention on February 8 at DC’s Conference hall. Additional Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Temsuwati Longkumer graced the occasion as the special guest accompanied by EAC, Yongnyah Bichano Kikon.
Temsuwati Longkumer in his address, encouraged the youths to be vocal and take active part in social activities. He also appealed the gathering to contribute to one’s own society by becoming a responsible youth, developing skills and acquiring knowledge which would further help them to be a good citizen. He also encouraged the youth clubs of NYK to come out from their comfort zone and take active role in contributing towards the community in particular and the nation in general.
He further highlighted about Swatch Bharat mission as part of the administrative activities and encouraged the clubs to come forward and work hard for a cleaner environment and to compete with other parts of the nation.
Bachem Buchem, Associate Pastor, Christian Ministry, LTBC and Lipom, Assistant Youth Pastor, LTBC spoke on the importance of youth life and its responsibilities and encouraged them to accept challenges and opportunities that are widely available. The programme was chaired by Lithei Phom, Youth Activist. Keynote address was delivered by Kuvoto Khamo, Programme coordinator, NYK, Longleng. Sports materials were distributed to the affiliated youth clubs.
