Office, home and dynamism

Human mind is, perhaps, the greatest creation of God and that is why man is superior to all other divine creations. God has skilfully designed the human mind creating a superb assemblage of all His choicest faculties. The greatness of a man, therefore, lies in how he utilises those faculties and manages his emotions. He who can exercise mastery over his mind is great and successful in life.
An ideal man has to shoulder multiple responsibilities in life. He who can shoulder multiple responsibilities in different spheres of life with full control upon his mind is an ideal man. Proper mind control with full respect to moral scruples and social and spiritual values ultimately provide a man a passport to a successful life and ensures his elevation to a greater height in the society.
A few fields of human activities are pictured here putting light on how the minds of successful humans actually work.
Firstly, let’s focus on our own home. The parents are totally different from their small children in the field of thinking. A child may ask the father “Papa, please take me out for a stroll.” The father may be steeped in thinking about how to earn tomorrow’s bread and butter or handle a critical case in the court or solve an important domestic or a political or a social or an economic problem. How will the father tackle the situation? Will he give the child a roaring shout or a slap or suspend his thinking of his real business? It will be certainly wise to respond to the child’s demand first and then to go on with his serious thinking. A mother may be frying something on the oven and at that very moment her small child may ask for a biscuit. What will the mother do now? She is in great trouble now. She is caught between the child’s insistence and the pressing demand of her attending the pan on the oven. The child starts crying. How will she deal both the things at this moment? A successful mother will cling to her gift of patience and attend to her frying work uttering sweet words tinged with the milk of motherly love to divert the attention of the child to some other interesting points to delay the process of fulfilling his/her demand. Such are the usual situations confronted by parents in a family. Success of the parents lies in how they peacefully tackle the situations.
Secondly, let’s focus on the routine of executives, businessmen, public workers and all officers dealing with the public and working for the public. There may be a long queue in front of the ticket counter and the dealing official must be awfully busy. He may be troubled by a lot of things at that moment. He may be irritated by phone calls, by news of his child’s failure in an examination, by the message of his wife’s sudden illness or by some annoying words of some of his customers. What should he do now? Will it be wise on his part to divert his attention or to lose temper? The success of the official lies in his keeping composure and sincerely performing his business putting aside his anger, irritation and ego. If he maintains all these qualities of the mind, he is really bold and dynamic. All the public workers face such situations in their daily routine of work. Those who can tackle the situations making everybody pleased and at the same time keeping their own image unhurt are victorious.
Thirdly and lastly, let’s take the routine of a teacher. He must be very dynamic. He must keep aside all his domestic problems while he is in the classroom. He is the proud hero in the total drama taking place in the class. He has to impart his lesson with full concentration, look after the discipline of the students, patiently answer the questions of the eager learners and at the same time he has to motivate the irritating elements like the habitual disturbers, classroom sleepers, regular absentees and absent-minded lazy learners. It is really amazing. A successful teacher is really an embodiment of wonder. A teacher needs to keep his cool at all the irritants and fill the air of the classroom with his love and affection and motivate all the students to learn the lessons without creating any feeling in any of the student that he/she is deprived of the love and care that is due to him/her.
The mind of a successful man plays dynamic roles in different situations in his daily life. In performing the roles demanded by situations his mind is driven by wisdom and patience and not by adverse emotions. His mind can make quick shifts from one sphere to another without mixing up all the spheres together. Concentration is the mode of work in every sphere and dynamism is the very principle.
