Officers called to ‘think and reason together’

The 10th Conference of the United Sangtam Gazette Officers Union (USGOU) got underway at Seyochung Town hosted by Seyochung Area Officers under the theme ‘Social changes of Sangtam after ten years.’
Speaking on the occasion, Japheth Woch ADC, Seyochung Town said that such important programme, where all Sangtam officers are coming together was not only an encouragement for the society but for the district as a whole. He said that the conference will go a long way in solving the problems the society is facing today.
Stating that officers play important roles in taking society forward for progress and development, he urged upon the officers to play a constructive role for society to benefit.
Mentioning that officers today have big responsibility and challenge, the ADC called upon the officers to take opportunity of the conference to come up with innovative solution and do to something beneficial for the people.
“If our society and economy is lacking behind, it shows that officers are not doing their part,” the ADC said while urging upon the officers “to think and reason it together.”
While observing that there was a need to encourage and motive girls to become women officers, he also urged upon officers present to produce more officers in the union.
Also addressing the officers, T. Seopi Sangtam, President United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) congratulated USGOU for organizing the conference in Seyochung town and stated that “such a gathering of intellectuals can shape the future of the society.”
“USGOU being one of the most respected intellectuals body among Sangtam,” he called upon officers “to share their knowledge and wisdom with the people so that society grow.”
He expressed optimism that USGOU conference will harmer out some of the social and economic issues confronting the society and extended USLP fullest support and cooperation towards the Union.
Giving presidential address, S Sejongmong President, USGOU said the Union was formed to maintain close coordination and unity among Sangtam Officers. He also called upon all frontal organization under USLP to join hands and work together for the welfare of Sangtam.
The inaugural programme was followed by presentation and discussion in the second session on the topic 'Human Resource Development', 'Health Care', 'Socio Economy' and 'Employment & it's impact’ moderated by Lipichem, APO (LRD), Tuensang while rapporteur was Dr. Koktiba, Assistant Professor, Phek Government College.
The programme was chaired by Rohbi Jinger, EAC, while Yangzitong Culture troupe, Thsingar Atparu Mulung and Yingphire Atparu Mulung performed traditional dance.
