Old garbage dumping site at Dimapur's Churches Colony shut

Dimapur, November 14 (MExN): Churches Colony Welfare Board (CCWB) has informed all the residents of Churches Colony as well as neighbouring colonies, including garages/workshops, business establishments, institutions etc, that henceforth dumping of garbage at the old dumping site (near Ms. Zinyu Gas Agency) is restricted owing to various health hazard issue(s).  

The Board has asked all to adhere to it, stating failing to comply by the decision will invite penalties.  

A press release from CCWB convenor, Omega G Naga further informed that in the interest of the residents of Churches Colony, an arrangement has been made for disposing/dumping of their respective garbage/waste. Every alternative day, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) truck will arrive and be stationed at 5 pick-up points in and around the colony to collect the garbage/waste, it said.  

The truck will move around the colony in the early morning hour(s) from 7:00 am - 8:00 am. In this regard, the Board informed the residents to dispose off the garbage between the mentioned hour/timing only.  

Further, it informed that for the service(s) rendered by the DMC, a sanitation tax will be levied @ the rate of Rs.50/- per household every month, which will be collected by the youth wing under the supervision of the welfare board.
