KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 13 (MExN): One person has been sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for the rape of his minor daughter in Kohima.
In a judgment dated September 9, Special Judge, POSCO Act, Kohima, Khesheli Chishi convicted one Gautam Das for the rape of his 12 years old daughter in October, 2017, informed a press release from the Public Prosecutor, Kohima, Kathu Rengma.
“The FIR was lodged by Neilasa Sale, Secretary, Kigwema village council and the OC, Women PS, Kohima registered the case and UBSI, S Yawao investigated the case and submitted charge sheet against the accused,” informed the Public Prosecutor.
He further informed that during trail, twelve witnesses were examined by the prosecution to prove the case. “After hearing the Special Public prosecutor and the Counsel for the accused, the Special Judge opined that prosecution has proved the case beyond any reasonable shadow of doubt and accordingly convicted the accused,” it was added.
