Phek, August 22 (MExN): The 2nd Khezhakeno Open Badminton Tourney (Men's doubles) was held under the aegis of Chiiketshe Society (CKS) on 15th august, 2017 at Zhipfhemi Community building, Khezhakeno Village in Phek District. Veshepe Ladu and Yielhoulo emerged as winners and walked away with the coveted trophy, along with citation and cash award of Rs. 5000. Velo Ngone and Elijah Sono bagged second and took home citations & cash award of Rs. 3000. The 2nd and 3rd runners up went to Lhouvelo Venuh & Kopelo Ladu and Kodelo Meche & Pfiishengolo Ketsu. They were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1000 respectively. Altogether 12 (twelve) teams participated in this 2nd edition of CKS' Badminton Tourney. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by D. Kemvii Koza, President, Khezhakeno Outside Dwellers' Union (KODU) as the special guest. President CKS, Medovelo Koza gave away the prizes in the closing ceremony and thereafter Velo Ngone, a notable Badminton player from Phek district, demonstrated techniques and attitudes required to excel in the sport.
