Operation Clean Wokha launched

Wokha, April 26 (MExN): World Malaria Day was observed at Wokha in association with Team Metamorphosis at TIYI Town Hall, Wokha under the theme ‘End Malaria for Good’ and was followed by official launching of Operation Clean Wokha by Team Metamorphosis to mark the World Malaria Day.

A Robin Lotha, Deputy Commissioner, Wokha graced the occasion as the chief guest and accompanying him were Project Director, DRDA Wokha, Thungdeno Mozhui, Dr. Abeni Kithan Principal, Mt. Tiyi College, Philip Yanthan SDPO, Mhomo Tungoe, SDO (C).

Prior to the observance of Malaria, sanitation drive in all the colonies was carried out in commemoration of World Malaria Day at Wokha Town, where the colony Chairman, GBs, Youth wing, Womenfolk actively participated in cleaning their colonies and disposing properly the waste collected at the garbage site.  

The panel of judges were Athrong EAC, Thungdemo, Mhathung, Amos from Team Metamorphosis, Zubemo, President District Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Matsung DPM (NHM) and Mhonbeni Media Officer (NHM) inspected all the colonies during the sanitation drive. New colony, PWD and Molonsu colony claimed the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position, cash prizes along with a recognition certificate were given to all the participating colonies. Civil Societies Officials from different sectors attended the programme. Vote of thanks was delivered by Chenithung Lotha.
