Orgs condemn manhandling of youth

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): The women and youth organisations of Kevijau colony have condemned the manhandling of youth volunteers who were on duty to stop parking of vehicles in No Parking zone at Kevijau colony on July 25. In a press release, presidents of the two organizations, R. Atula Pongen and Ningrieshang stated that such act meted out to innocent youths with firearms cannot be tolerated and the accused should be penalized with appropriate provisions of the law. The organisations also appealed that the accused should not be released on bail during the pendency of the case. Further, they apprised the investigation agency to thoroughly examine and investigate the alleged Bolero vehicle bearing no. NL-10/5140 used by the accused while committing the offence.  

Kevijau assault case: Two others arrested

The police on July 26 arrested the two persons, who were reported absconding in connection to the July 25 Kevijau colony assault case. The ADCP & PRO, Dimapur police, in a press release informed that a car (Opel Corsa), used by the duo was also impounded. They were identified as Jessi Zhimomi and David Sangtam. The release further stated that the four involved in the assault as well as the truck driver have been arrested, while two vehicles and an unlicensed firearm were confiscated.
