Dimapur, May 22 (MExN): The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) strongly condemned the barbaric and callous act of rape and murder of a minor girl on May 14. “It is unbecoming in our Naga society, creating fear-psychosis towards the women folk and have to be sternly taken action immediately by the concerned authority,” stated WSSU president Daniel H.Sumi in a press note.
While condemning the heinous act, the WSSU urge the law enforcing agencies to put their full effort to book the culprit immediately as per the law of the land and asked the government to take adequate measures in such areas where frequently, innocent public suffers. The WSSU also extends sympathy towards the victim’s family and urge the public to be very vigilant in and around, particularly riverside area to avert such incident in near future.

Reacting to media reports carried out by local dailies of a minor girl of 14 years who was raped, and shot three times in the head, murdered and dumped at river Chathe on the night of May 14 2011 the National Socialist Women’s Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) stated that it was indeed the most shocking news. It also stated that it was a most outrageous crime against humanity in general and against women in particular.
A press note issued by NSWON publicity & information department stated that it strongly condemns this wicked and ghastly crime which is far beyond even beastly behavior and said that the perpetrator(s) should be immediately arrested and awarded befitting punishment so that such devilish behavior or action does not take place again in our land. “Such inhuman devilish behavior is too dangerous a threat and a menace to the human society in any place of the world, therefore, all authority concerned national or State Church Hoho, every organization, institution, Union, village council, every department and family should rise up against such devilish design and root out such evil from our society at the earliest,” NSWON stated.
