PAC discusses community policing with GBs, colony chairmen and police

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 22 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) of the Naga Council Dimapur held a meeting with the Dimapur Urban GBs, Dimapur Urban Colony Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) and ADCP, Relo T Aye of Dimapur police on October 21.


A press release from the PAC informed that the meeting discussed mainly on community policing which is enshrined in the Government policy as explained by the DCP. 


“Every citizen has a responsibility in curbing all forms of illegal activities. Every member of a colony or village has the responsibility to act for the welfare of the people as the police cannot reach each and every nook and corner all the time,” the PAC stated. 


It said that any form of illegal collection of money and illegal activites may be reported to the village/colony authority, who in-turn should report the matter to the police and not take the law into one's own hand.


In the meeting, the members appreciated the PAC for the steps it has taken to check illegal collections of money by the state and non-state actors “as it is the duty of every citizens, colonies, villages, civil societies to work together and eradicate the illegal collections of money and make Dimapur district a better place to live.”
