Pangjungkaba wins state level essay competition

Kohima | December 14: Pangjungkaba from Dainty Buds, Kohima declared as the winner of the state level essay competition held as part of the National Energy Conservation Day.
The competition was sponsored by Ministry of Power and Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Government of India and organized by Nagaland State Designated Agency
Kito H. Yeptho from Living Stone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and Neikese-u Sorhie of Mezhur Higher Secondary School Kohima stood second and third position respectively.
10 consolation winners included; Eyonu Jeceno Hibo- St. Paul School Phesama, Kohima, Atole Thirah- Stella Higher Secondary School Kohima, Mutsihulu- Model Higher Secondary School Kohima, Petenouneu Pienyu- Northfield, Khikha Kohima, Imtilemla Jamir- Delhi Public School Dimapur, Parveen Nisha- Kendriya Vidyalaya Dimapur, Atula- Libemo Memorial School Wokha, Herahungbe- Ibau Thou Memorial High School Jalukie, Lolun L- Mount Horeb Baptist School, Pungro Town, Kiphire and Retsulong- Loyala Higher Secondary School Kiphire.
The award ceremony took place today at the Zonal Council Hall.
Judges for competition included V. Nakhro, SE (Civil) department of power, Meyase, additional director School Education and Sashirenla, lecturer, Oriental College.
The winner Pangjungkaba in his essay hinted some useful tips about how to conserve energy and how to make economically use of available resources of energy.
Among the many tips it reads; switch off all the electrical appliance at home, schools, colleges and offices or any public places whenever not in use as it save energy to a great extent, use only CFL electrical bulbs at home for economic consumption of energy, always use pressure cooker while cooking to save time and energy etc.
“Every little contribution of each person will become a huge energy save for our generation,” said Pangjungkaba.
