Pangteang sworn in as cabinet minister

Allocation of portfolios to council of ministers and swearing in ceremony of parliamentary secretaries today

E.E Pangteang was sworn in today as cabinet minister under the newly formed ministry headed by T.R Zeliang. Nagaland’s Governor P.B Acharya administered the oath to the newly inducted minister in the presence of cabinet ministers, MLAs, Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments.  

Chief Minister T.R Zeliang told media persons that the swearing in ceremony of parliamentary secretaries will happen on July 25. Allocation of portfolios to council of ministers is also expected to take place after swearing in ceremony of the parliamentary secretaries and advisors.  

With the induction of Pangteang, the cabinet, which has a limit of 12, has been filled up. It may be recalled that 10 legislators—G. Kaito Aye, Imkong L. Imchen, Tokheho Yepthomi, Y. Patton, Kipili Sangtam, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, Imtilemba Sangtam, Kejong Chang, Neiba Kronu and Mmhonlumo Kikon—were sworn in as cabinet ministers on July 22.  

T.R. Zeliang was sworn in as Chief Minister on July 19. He won the confidence motion on the floor of the Eighteenth (Emergent) Session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on July 21.
