Pcheda game competition took place today at Viswema in Kohima district under the aegis of Rachii Youth Organization (RYO), Viswema.

Youth resources & sports advisor Er. Zale Neikha also joined the competition as part of encouragement and promotion of this rich traditional game.

An indigenous game Pcheda, is game played with dried grass stick called Opche. The players are divided into two groups. The groups then compete to throw the grass stick to the farthest possible distance and the winner is decided through whoever throws to the farthest distance.

The advisor gave a special prize of Rs.5000 to the man of the match, which was bagged by Viraseto Neikha.

Altogether, 80 members of RYO along with some well wishers joined the competition.

The game was followed by a traditional feast.
