Mokokchung, March 20 (MExN): The common consensus candidate of People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) from Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Sharingain Longkumer for 26 Aonglenden Assembly constituency bye election officially kick-started his electoral campaign.

NDPP Media cell in a press release stated that the young PDA consensus candidate, Sharingian Longkumer, during his campaign thanked the PDA government for giving him the opportunity to represent the alliance as the consensus candidate for the bye election.

He told the gathering that he has a responsibility to take forward and fulfill the dreams of the area people while honoring the memory and unfinished dreams of late Imtikumzuk, who was elected from the same party ticket at the previous Nagaland Assembly Election.

Longkumer also reminded that 26 Aonglenden constituency is a blessed constituency which have produced many Naga political luminaries and remarked that, if given the opportunity, he will sacrifice and dedicate his time for the upliftment of the constituency, while dedicating tirelessly for the welfare of the Nagas as a whole.

Delving on the importance of youth in nation building, he said, as a young candidate, he can understand the pulse of the young people and represent their zeal for want of change; while at the same time, take knowledge from the elders and take necessary steps for the betterment of the constituency.

He further added that the 26 Aonglenden AC bye election is important especially for the youth and encouraged them to bring change through unity and for the betterment of the constituency which in turn will teach a lesson to the neighboring constituency.

He urged parents and party workers to guide him and support him like their own son so as to work with new vision for the youth in particular and the constituency in general. Sharingain further affirmed that their support will not go in vain and that he will be there in all times. He also said the Lok Sabha seat is equally important and that it should not be neglected, stating that he wants to be a voice of the youth in the parliament and urged everyone to work together in unity.
