PDGBA to check attendance of government officers

Phek, March 20 (MExN): The Phek District GBs Association (PDGBA) in its meeting held on March 9 at Phek headquarters resolved to conduct surprise checking of attendance at district headquarters and subdivisions and report the matter to the Chief Secretary, Nagaland for timely disciplinary action.

In a press release, PDGBA President Zadülhü Ringa and General Secretary Müzilhü V Keyho stated that certain government officers posted at the district headquarters and various sub-divisions remain absent without taking leave which creates untold inconveniences to the public in the social, economic, health and educational sectors in the district.

It maintained that the public servants are expected to be in their posting place and implement social welfare schemes, PDS, flagship programmes and other policies and programmes being initiated by the central or state government. The association also warned to deduct the absentee’s salary ranging from Rs 190 to Rs 1000 per day if this caution was ignored by any public servant in the near future.
