PHEK, July 25 (MExN): The Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) conducted workshop/training of Dobashis (DBs) and Gaon Buras (GBs) at ADC Conference Hall, Pfutsero on July 25.
Delivering a short speech and launching the PDLSA newsletter, Zeneikhonuo Viemero, ADC Pfutsero said that it is a rare opportunity for the village authority and judiciary to share platform for such programme. While lauding the village authorities for functioning well, the ADC encouraged the DBs and GBs to learn from the training/workshop in order to perform better in village administration and in dispensing justice.
Keynote address was delivered by N. Longshithung Ezung, District and Session Judge Phek and Chairman PDLSA.
Tongpang Jamir, Master Trainer NSLSA, spoke on Role of DBs and GBs, village council act 1978, role of administration of justice and police in Nagaland 1937, while Mamang Singson, Advocate Retainer Lawyer PDLSA, spoke on legal practices and procedures.
Around 100 GBs, DBs and VCs and other village authorities from different village under Pfutsero subdivision attended the workshop/training programmme.
The ADC, SDO and EAC Sakraba were also present during the training programme.
Meanwhile, on the same day PDLSA also organized an essay competition at Pfutsero Government College. Altogether 19 students participated in the essay competition. The names of the winners will be announced on July 28 during the college’s sports week prize distribution day.
