Pdsa 30 sports meet culminates

Lephori Village, February 10 (MExN): The 30th meet of Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) was successfully completed yesterday here at Lephori Village local ground under Meluri Sub Division of Phek district 50 Kms away from Phek District head quarter. Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Nagaland, Er. D.Mero graced the closing function as the guest of honor on February 9 and gave away prizes to the winners. Addressing the sporting contingents Er Mero stressed on the importance of maintaining discipline and sports spirit by the sportspersons with firm determination and commitment so as to excel in the field. Calling upon the sports contingent of the 30th Meet to opt for a particular event thereby preparing him/her to become professionals in that given field, he said one should take firm determination to become self dependent. He further appealed to them to keep themselves out of anti-social activities so that sportspersons do not become frustrated even in the near future under whatsoever circumstances.
Stating that Nagas were fond of imitating others with no proper future vision, many youngsters unintentionally opted to become ‘Jacks of all trades and master on none’. Mero further thanks the PDSA for the satisfactory arrangement.  Meanwhile, a new team of PDSA Executive Council for the tenure 2011-2013 was elected comprises of the following persons.

PDSA outgoing President, Kedochu Koza was nominated as the Convenor of Board of Advisors; he will be assisted by 2 more members. Meanwhile, three Audit Committee Members and two Board of Advisors will be selected by the newly elected officials.
The outgoing President Kedochu Koza while thanking the entire sports community of the district for reposing faith in him and elected him unopposed during the last election, he further sought the same spirit of cooperation of the district thereby contributing their due shares even to the new team. Wishing the new team to be headed by President Teisovi Katiry and Technical Director Surhonieyi Soho, he will be behind their endeavors as and when necessity arises. He further conveys his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief guest, guest of honor, chief patron and patrons, Umpires, Media in charges, all sports contingents, KASA officials and people of Lephori, well wishers etc for their tireless contributions towards the meet where the meet could successfully culminated. The House in its Business hour held on 7 Feb unanimously endorsed the application of Sekrezu Area Sports Association (SASA) to host the next PDSA 30th Meet in the year 2013.
