Pfutsero run towards clean election

PFUTSERO, October 28 (MExN): The 3rd Open Kalos Marathon themed - ‘Towards clean election’ was organised today at Pfutsero, Phek district. A total of 217 participants turned up for the run.  

Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Neiba Kronu flagged off the men's category at Chida post junction, Khezhakeno, while the women's category was flagged off by Vechiilo-u Kanuo, executive director CWWS at Zuketsa. The finishing line was at Pfutsero Sports Complex.  

Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony, Kronu called for working hand-in-hand to usher in change in the society. “With determination and with will power our society can be changed too,” he said, while expressing his happiness over the youth running a race to support clean election. While informing that Pfutsero town Multi-purpose Stadium will be opened very shortly, he added that a standard sports ground is also under way, which can host district and state-level events.  

Kanuo, in her address while appreciating the enthusiasm received, downplayed the apparent apprehension over the success of the clean election campaign. “Many say that ‘clean election’ is not possible but ‘clean election’ is possible if we all join hands.”
