Phek, September 9 (MExN): Phek Government College observed 'International Literacy Day' on September 8 at the college Administrative building jointly organised by the Literary Club and Performing Arts Club under the theme 'Literacy in a Digital world'. To mark the celebration, an inter class competition was conducted among BA/BSc first, third and fifth semester. It comprised of different events such as quiz, sketching, spelling Bee, extempore speech, slogan writing, and drama and choir competition. The college also participated in national essay competition under the topic 'Increasing Electoral Participation through Voter Registration and Turnout' as directed by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Phek. The programme was concluded by Diezeno Tase, Assistant Professor, Dept of English thanking the Principal, teaching faculties for willingly sponsoring the prizes for the winners and the students at large for their hard work and active participation.
