DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 13 (MExN): The Phek Town Council has banned the use of plastic carry bag (polythene bags) apart from company seal packaging and the use of plastic wrapper (transparent plastic) in pan shops with effect from December 1, 2017. The Phek Town Council stated that the order has been issued “in the interest of the general public for healthy living in keeping the town clean and to prevent natural calamities and ecological imbalance.” The order also stated that defaulters would be penalized with a sum of Rs 1000. The Phek Town Council has empowered the Phek Town Youth Society to oversee the order.
