Phek, Tuensang DPDB monthly meetings held

Phek/Tuensang, July 11 (MExN): The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meetings of Phek and Tuensang were held in their respective headquarters on July 10.  

Phek: In Phek, the meeting began with review of the last meeting minutes, where the application for society registration in respect of Foundation for Education Research and Skill Development was deferred to the next meeting.  

According to a DIPR report, MLA Yitachu also spoke at the meeting and called upon the members to be attentive while serving in the government service. “We need to take in good attitude in the right direction for betterment of future generation so that together we build prosperous of our society,” he stated. The MLA also appealed to the Board members to be present in station.  

Phek DC & DPDB vice chairman Orenthung Lotha, who chaired the meeting, urged the members to cooperate for betterment of the district.  

Phek District Badminton Association president, Kelhikha Kenyi also spoke regarding the upcoming Nagaland badminton tournament to be held in Pfutsero and called upon members for collective effort in the venture.  

The meeting also discussed the bridge over Kayoti River near Thewati, which was washed away during monsoon. The same was recommended to the higher authority for consideration.  

Departmental activities were presented by Transport and Industries. Art & Culture and DSO (Sports) departments were entrusted to present their department activities in the next meeting.  

Tuensang: At the DPDB meeting held in Tuensang at DC’s office, Deputy Commissioner L Jamithung Lotha welcomed and introduced the two new board members – Superintendent of Police (SP), Bharat Markad and Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Tuensang, Vikhato Picka.  

Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the DC urged the board members to participate in the meeting with new ideas and share their views and opinions with open-mindedness.  

Maintenance of Tuensang-Longleng road by NEC and proposal for setting up Tourist Rest House and Resort at Youngpang sector were discussed and approved during the meeting. The house also approved the renewal of Dolen Tangjam Society.  

Medical department was entrusted to give PowerPoint presentation in the next meeting.
