PM Modi to campaign in Nagaland at Tuensang on February 22

Upping the poll campaign in Nagaland, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address rally at Tuensang Town on February 22.  

Jaansillung Gonmei, Nagaland State General Secretary Bharatiya Janata Party said this while taking part in ‘The Big Picture – an open interaction with political parties in Nagaland,’ in Dimapur on February 17.  

The Naga Republic, Heritage Publishing House and The Morung Express jointly organised the interactive panel discussion at the Don Bosco Institute with an aim to help people get a better understanding of ‘Policy Matters’ at the state level.  

The itineraries, however, is yet to be finalised, he added.  

UNI News agency quoting BJP sources also reported that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will campaign at Atoizu Assembly Constituency under Zunheboto district on February 20.  

Singh will arrive at Atoizu town on February 20 and campaign for former chief minister KL Chishi, who is contesting on BJP ticket from Atoizu Assembly Constituency under Zunheboto district, it added.  

The Congress party, meanwhile, was unsure whether the party president, Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Nagaland.  

There are plans but nothing has been finalised yet, General Secretary for Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Capt. GK Zhimomi told the gathering at the panel discussion when prodded about the same.
